about us

Sentire is a Cambridge-based magazine for art, photography, poetry, prose & anything in between. We welcome submissions from around the world and have featured work from across the UK and beyond. Our issues can be found online and in print.

Our name, Sentire, stems from the Latin root for ‘sentence’ and the Italian word for ‘feeling’. Each of our issue’s themes are selected from the first sentence of a famous work of literature: so far we’ve drawn from Kafka’s Metamorphosis, Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, and Iris Murdoch’s  The Sea, The Sea.

Co-founded and co-edited by Hendrikje Dorussen & Hannah Beresford.
